apologies for posting a piece on this blog in error… I will explain

Several years ago, I made my first website and decided to make it a project that depended on my observation of something that may change every day. I decided to grow a bean, on blotting paper, in a jar, like we did at primary school. I wrote myself a set of rules:

  • I must do it every day, without fail
  • I would start by taking a photo and the colours in the photo, and the beans stage of growth, would inspire my writing
  • so I colour dipped the photo every day to elect my palette – it was pretty boring to begin with but when the bean sprouted, wow, I had green too!
  • I wrote freestyle
  • Every day I must introduce a new technique, animated gifs, drag and drop etc.

There evolved an ongoing narrative and a coherence. The light changed daily, the palette grew too. The delight in nurturing this thing was beautiful and pleasing way to start the day.

In 2012 I wrote  a post on my other blog about rediscovering that website, called  “lost and found, like a mislaid child, my first ever website”. This was prompted because I found out it was being used as a teaching aid in Puerto Rico!

so……..the post that may have popped up in your mailbox from Flow today was one from a new site, following the style of the bean Project. but for now, it’s private. It was an error, I am sorry. It’s personal for now, but that may well change. I will see. It’s about celebrating the everyday.

So here’s a photo from my new project, just to prove I’m not lying.
