Flow is endlessly gathering momentum – looking out of my office window today the River Severn sparkles and is calm and reflective. Me too. Later there will be rushes of waves as the tide comes in and the birds fly into action.
I have some exciting models of practice I am ready to fly into action with myself – one in curatorial practice and adaptation and the other relating to digitising collections. I need new partner organisations to work with, so get in touch if you’d like to know more about either.
2013 was a year of professional development – devising new initiatives; leadership courses; writing courses and LOTS of useful joined-up thinking. Last summer Flow’s focus was on consultation and working with Simon Ryder on a commission in local libraries. This years projects are informed by that process, but with museums. It’s all about research and discovery, finding new ways to create site-responsive work that can adapt and change.
Thanks to an Arts Council G4A award to work with 3 Gloucestershire Libraries on Friction: where fact and fiction meet through art artists Tara Downs and Bart Sabel will be creating work for The Holst Museum, The Museum in the Park and the Waterways Museum.

I’m mentoring too – being a critical friend and support to artists is important to me – I’ve had mentoring myself and value the opportunity to have a safe space to talk.
