The Fallow, Romjul, The Gusset, mind the gap – reflect & plan

This time of year is always pregnant with expectation. We’re reaching the end and nearing the beginning, some call it the doldrums, others, variously:
Romjul

The Fallow (this is nice and earthy – better than the rut!)

The Gusset (great name!)

The Taint (tainted with what, uncertainty? Guilt from overeating?)

Personally, I like to think of it as a time for R&P – reflection and planning. (Or rest and peace)

2015- reflections

The biggest physical change in my life was to have the chimney breast removed from my lounge

And the wallpaper designed by Aurelia Lange

And the full length sofa I can lie down on

My house is still tiny, but a bit less tiny

I had a lovely time with Julian – we went to places together I’d never been to before – Marrakech, Margate, and the one that beats the others – Dungenness.

And to see Ibeyi with Joel and Holly – fantastic – new music, I must see more

Venice with the b-side girls was great fun and the weather was amazing!

Most recently I loved seeing my best friend and her husband, and all their families, for Petes 60th.

Resulting in the Story of Cake. The taxi from their home in West Bridgford to Langar Hall followed the same route my school bus did for seven years of secondary education!

I’ve worked with a lot of great people on some brilliant projects – always such a privilege to do that, I love my work

2016 – planning

Ah, that comes later, all will be revealed!

(Oh dear, the crumpled cushions show the sofa is we’ll used and much loved, and that housework is not my forte!)
