I am so looking forward to participating in the Time Lapse show with two other artists from the Forest of Dean working in printmaking and related media. Nichola Goff, Melanie Clarke and myself are exhibiting a selection of works under the title of Time Lapse, at Centrespace Gallery in Bristol over the coronation weekend. We’dContinue reading “Time Lapse Exhibition at Centrespace Bristol #coronation weekend”

Sharing territories – learning from the birds
I have become a keen observer of the bird behaviour that I witness in my garden. And I realise that because I own my garden, it is therefore my territory. The birds have a different perspective, literally, because they arrive and leave from the sky, not a door. They visit the garden – not me.Continue reading “Sharing territories – learning from the birds”
Two exhibitions – one either side of the Severn – last chance to see them
Very rarely have I been involved in two exhibitions on both sides of the Severn on the same dates! Both end on Sunday 27th March – the Old Passage exhibition in Arlingham and, across the river further along the estuary, the Severn Sisters show at 7Q in Chepstow. So whichever side of the Severn youContinue reading “Two exhibitions – one either side of the Severn – last chance to see them”

Banking on things – gambling with the Earth
Last night I attended an online talk by Gabriella Hirst, hosted by Rebecca Farkas. It was very interesting and thought provoking. That made me think of other similar terms, such as banking on something happening; banking as in trade.Continue reading “Banking on things – gambling with the Earth”
sunspots in my eyes, sunrise over the Severn
REPOST FROM 2018 On Friday 4th February I went on a Walking the Land First Friday walk in the local woodlands. It reminded me of this piece of writing which took a bit of digging to find. I didn’t know the word Komorebi until last week. As I edited my film I thought about Escher’sContinue reading “sunspots in my eyes, sunrise over the Severn”
Elemental Forest: 2 commissions now live – film/video makers & audio artist
In May 2021, the Forest Economic Partnership (FEP) and their project partners, Forest of Dean District Council, were successful in securing funding from Arts Council England to commission artists to create a community engagement campaign. The project will focus public attention on how a Biosphere Reserve (BR) UNESCO designation for FoD could work here. ItContinue reading “Elemental Forest: 2 commissions now live – film/video makers & audio artist”
Pandemic writing – giving attention – reflection
The Attention Series The Attention Series of writings are both disparate and connected. They speak of a particular time in my life, in our lives, that only four months ago were unimaginable. And how I am processing that world through acting, reflecting and writing. It is a rich time for sharing as we self-isolate andContinue reading “Pandemic writing – giving attention – reflection”
